I have noticed a lot that before the new staff members people were trying to be extremely helpful and use good grammar and stuff like that, but now some people that didn't get accepted have gave up on trying to be helpful. I did not make staff, and I promise all of you I will be helpful no matter what. You don't need two simple commands (/mute and /kick) and a cool prefix to help out with the server. If everyone pitches in and helps Minetime become a better server, that would mean a lot to Collin and the rest of the staff. If we stop being helpful just because we didn't get accepted, it will one, put a lot more work on the staff, and two, make Minetime a lot worse than it was during the time people were waiting for their application to be accepted. I was very impressed with everyone being helpful during that time and I saw it both on the forums and on Minetime itself. Remember, everyone can help. By the way, congrats @LUCASBRAGZ @Kyleep @Tih @proofofexistence and many more on becoming Helpers. Thanks a bunch, Hop
Yeah, i have seen a change in the attitude of some people as well Hopefully more continue to help and stick around.
I have noticed this. I made a plan to help others evey day for no rewards. Once again, Congratulations to all Helpers.
Good idea, but can you make it work ? There are only a certain number of questions someone can ask, and if everyone's going to be a "helper" we'll all be bored to death. And without kick and mute you can't do much in terms of chat moderation. Telling someone to stop will only go so far..
I definitely acknowledge most of the things that you stated, Hops. Everyone who applied for staff, regardless if they were accepted or not definitely needs to keep a positive and strong attitude towards the server. They could command the player to stop what ever unneeded and/or inappropriate action that they're doing, if the player continues they could report the player on the forums or find a staff member to deal with them.
Someone's always gonna come in with the negativity..... We could report the player on here. This isn't really an "idea" per say. It's telling people that just because they aren't helper, it doesn't mean they can't help.
I agree with this thread, although I am sure the new members of staff will be able to answer everyone's inquiries.
To be honest, it's sad that servers even need Helpers/Moderators. But then again, the Internet... Would you act like you do here with your parents/guardians watching?
You don't have to make a thread announcing to that everyone can pitch in and help. Everyone already knows that helping is within their power, and don't need to be reminded. I agree with this thread. There are enough players quitting Minetime without people telling them to help out because they can, not all players are selfless, or even partially selfless.
I made this thread because of people changing their attitude after not getting accepted. If they were still being helpful, I would have never made this thread. By the way, my post got a total of 15 positive ratings, thank you
