Hey guys, So I've noticed after our latest additions to the team got their prefixes (TheLidien, KaiJordan_ and OllieBeaz), we've had a massive increase in people on the server who want to apply. I get asked every single day 'what do you need to do to be on the build team?' I really think it needs to be cleared up. It's actually kind of shocking how easy people think getting on the team will be. One guy threw a tantrum when I showed him the sort of stuff you'd need to achieve it. Let me tell you: It's not something you're going to achieve overnight. If your build only took you a few hours, it's probably not going to get you on the team. You also can't be afraid to make changes to your work - possibly swap out entire sections to make it work better. If you can do better, try to do better! I know it's important to have quality over quantity but if you show us a building that doesn't even take up a quarter of your plot, there's no way you're going to be accepted. We need to see your potential as a builder, and the proof that you have the ability to make maps that people can use in-game. That's also why you can't have anyone else help - we have to see your ability, and yours alone. Another thing about maps is they have to be fun, well built (obviously) and creative. You're not going to want to play the same maps 10 times. This is why your application needs to be creative, too. REMEMBER: We only pick a select few builders out of hundreds of users. Think to yourself - "how does my work stand out from the crowd?" I would advise you make two or three plot-sized good quality builds, but make them unique. If you know that someone got accepted with a particular build, don't copy them. We had a big hoo-ha a while ago when everyone started copying my steampunk tower (Image 2). Villages are not a good idea because they are not visually impressive- they don't have much of a 'wow' factor. Here are some examples of the builds that got people accepted: 1. Me (Not trying to be vain, just showing you) 2. KaiJordan_ (He had other builds but if I put them all on, the thread will be massive). 3. KaiJordan_ and TheLidien applied together as a partnership (both are equally good, if you are considering applying in a pair you can't have one doing all the work while the other copies). I agree And Kai and Thelidien worked very hard when I was watching them I watched them debate over what they should add to their builds to make it better they both did the same amount of work, and are exceptional builders! (I still watch them build)
Add that you shouldn't be afraid to clear your plot or take down an entire section. Like you said, quality over quantity.

Well, your confidence shouldn't die, but the point was probably to encourage people to think first before they submit an application. You can only get better at building, anyway.
