Greetings, Minetime! I am here to inform you on something I have noticed in my first couple days of playing. Problem: In the lobby, you have to run to all the portals in order to join a gamemode. If you are a new member, you aren't going to know where all the portals are which means you would be running around the lobby trying to chose a gamemode to play. With younger players, their patience level may run dry and leave the server. I know some of you may not think this is a big deal which is understandable. I am simply trying to increase the efficiency in joining gamemodes. Note: I do realize there is a /[Gamemode] command but very few people know about this surprisingly. Solution: Add a server selector or in other words a compass! This would improve the speed in which a player is to join a gamemode. With all the servers in front of them, they don't even have to move a mussel until, bam, they are teleported into a server! What do you guys think about this? Feel free to provide feedback on this suggestion. I am open to any sort of feedback wither constructive or an affirmative consent. I do realize this is a difficult task, as I was/am helping develop a server. Although, I can say it was worth it. Cheers, Banana.
I do not think a compass would be a good solution. You can help this by going into any server through a portal and doing /server
I think it would definitely work, and it would be much easier to get around, although it's Collin's decision for making the changes.
Greetings, Ido. This is what I am trying to fix, haha. The problem is not having the compass and going through the portals constantly. Maybe is they added a broadcast telling people they can /[gamemode]? Who knows, although this is just a minor change that can help efficiency throughout minetime. Good day, Banana.
The hub was made simple so people did not have to walk about 100 blocks to their portal. You can easily see what server you want to join looking at the name.
This is popular in many servers. MineTime is a unique server. There are few servers (if any) you can relate MineTime to. The hub was deliberately made small to remove the need for a compass. You can use the /<gamemode> Command to switch between any of the servers (except empires). Although /<gamemode> does not work in the hub, for that you use /server <hubempires:skyblock:skywars:survival:factions:Prison:PvpFest:op:hungergames:infection> Although, I admit the signs are difficult to navigate.
Greetings, Fantasy. Although I do understand that, what is the harm of making the hub even more efficient? Anyways, thanks for the feedback! Cheers, Banana.
Greetings, Max. Yes, I do like the concept of minetime being unique but unique flavor should not rely on wither there is a compass or not. I also agree with the /server things but colin should possibly add a broadcast stating that command so players who didn't know it, would know it. Wow, thats an alliteration. Anyways, Thanks for the feedback. Cheers, Banana.
@CollinPotato Put a broadcast in the lobby that /server is a possible command if you've haven't already.
The time it takes you to get to a server using that command, is as slow as it takes me to enter a server portal.
ok, two things. one:stop writing everything in letter form bananaman two:i don't see the need for a compass, it doesn't take long to run around the entire spawn only about 20 seconds per circle
Its quicker, easier. And 20 seconds is quite long just to look for a server. Also, he can do what he wants.
Addressing people by their username in such a format may resemble a letter, however I don't see anything wrong with it. I mean, especially if he's new and wants to mean something to the community. It's a simple fix, but I don't personally think it's needed. Half the time I'm on, I just see people walking in the the first portal or so in front of them. That's what I did as well. Sometime in August 2013, I went straight into survival.
I agree! Him putting almost every reply like that, is simply being friendly. There is nothing wrong with it.
