My apologies for the issues on Empires lately. We are working on almost a complete rewrite of the entire system. There is currently an issue with the file server not responding due to an overload in messages during peak hours. Our new system will fix how it handles responses to that but in its current state, the server cripples with too many players on it. We are going to leave it down for now until we get our new solution implemented. Anyone that purchased an upgrade will be compensated in some way, but we will deal with that once everything is fixed. Please do not ask about that yet. I will post an update with more info as soon as we have it.
It means that since you spent money on something that you currently don't have access to, we will figure out a way to make it up to you!
We've been working on it for about a month now. As soon as Empires started to get big we realized that our current implementation wouldn't scale as well as we thought it would and would have to implement a new system.
I think they're wondering like how long will it take until empires is reopen, will they lose their work and plugins, etc.

No, data won't be lost. For how long: we're hoping this weekend but an ETA on this would be unreasonable as it's a lot of work. Just know that it'll be soon
They need to fix this bad I Really want to play empires. Staff and admins need to concentrate on this issue and fix it fast because lots of people <3 empires including me.
Think of it as it hasn't been released and you are really execited by the planned release date is next week (might be before that ). When they launch it is unlikely to lag at all! Try to be patient, unless you Have a TARDIS
