The server is pretty dead, we all try to deny it sometimes, but it is, and I think I've got a good idea why. Disprove me if I'm wrong, but maybe, just maybe, it's bad to change the IP so much, especially if only forum users find out the new IP. I have three Minetime IPs in my server menu, and only one works, and that one I only discovered today after going 2 pages back into the announcements. My idea to fix this? If it's at all possible, open up the old IPs for 2-3 weeks, with a MOTD that says "NEW IP: Minetime.com" all colorful to catch any old player's attention. That would bring back tons of players, get our voting back up, get us closer to the top of the server lists, so we can grow more. "Oh but people probably found new servers by now" What about the hackers without a decently funded server that allows hacks? Not to mention that I spent 20 minutes today trying to find a good creative server but only found underpopulated servers or creative servers without a proper chat system. Trust me, there are a lot of people with Minetime sitting on their server list waiting for it to come back even though it already has. TL;DR Either bring back the old IPs or put an MOTD saying the new IP, so people know how to connect.
I think the problem now is more people leaving because of kits. Staff have already said they are working on a way to bring the kits back, so that's a plus. I do support your idea though.
I'd like to see the thoughts @Pile has on this, since she plays a pretty decent role in all of this, being an admin and all.
I'm all for getting more players to come on. And changing the IP back to what it was originally seems like a good start.
It's always been minetime.com, that's the original IP, he's probably talking about the temp mc.minetime.com IP when we was bypassing the blacklist.
It's already been done, people can connect to minetime.com just fine. EDIT: Also, wildcards are detected and blocked as well, so even if we was blocked that wouldn't work.
This might be hard to explain but you guys know when you add a server to your server list and it says (for example minetime right now/a few days ago) Skyblock has just reset! I was just thinking we could say Check out forums for important news! or New changes! or something like that to help make people aware of changes to the domain or whatever. Just a thought
