Recently I have noticed a large amount of players from skyblock, struggle to complete the slimeball challenge. So i have decided to try and create the most simple How to guide as possible!

To understand how to harvest the seemingly impossible resource that is a slime ball, we must first look at the Slime Mob and its spawning behaviour.

    Figure 1: The Slime

Slimes are known to spawn in two different locations within any minecraft world Swamps and "Slime Chunks", okay simple enough but wait! There is more a lot more too it.

    Swamps -
    Slimes only spawn in the following conditions in any swamp biome;
    - Height of 50 to 70
    - Light level is 7 or less
    - NOT a new moon
    - It is a normal swamp (eg. not swamp hills)

    Figure 2: F3 Menu

Now if you are playing on skyblock and you want to know what biome you are in you must click the "F3" key, and as seen in figure 2, and locate where it says Biome.

Once you know your in the right place just go down to around level 60 and build a giant flat platform. Something to keep in mind is that Slimes are reckless and will jump off the platform if no guards are in place.

    Slime Chunks -
Slime chunks on the other hand aren't so easy to locate, because they are randomly generated with the world and unless you know the seed of the world you cannot calculate the location of them (1 in 10 of all chunks on a map are classified as a slime chunk).

Unfortunately if you were looking to use this method to find slimes, you are going to have to test every chunk by going to the required depth 0 to 39 and placing a platform and waiting to see if any are going to spawn.

    Figure 3: Auto Slime Farm

Figure 3 is an example of an automatic slime farm!

Hopefully this guide helps you start your very own slime farm! If you do however require more information
, I recommend either going on youtube and looking up a video or taking a look at the Wiki for Slimes at the following link https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Slime#Swamps.

    Thank You!
