Nathan's Skyblock Guide (2018 Reset) Welcome to the new Skyblock! Click on a spoiler to view more information on a topic. Sorry for the first two spoilers being split into two: Not sure why that's happening. Spoiler: General Information -To begin your Skyblock journey, type /island or /is in chat. It will take you to your new island, with minimal resources but enough for you to get started. DO NOT use your kits before you create an island. Your inventory WILL be cleared. -If you want to invite one of your friends to build with you on your island, type /island invite [name]in chat. Example: /island invite OliviaM. If you're the player that was invited, you type /island accept to join. However, when you switch islands, your inventory is cleared. So you need to make sure that you give all your items to the person inviting you to put in a chest so you don't lose the items. -If somebody is snooping around on your island and you want them out, you can do two things. The first thing you could do is type /island ban [name]. Example: /island ban Pile_of_Butts. Another thing you could do is /island lock. Island lock means that all players that don't belong to your island cannot enter your island. It's useful if you have something like an AFK grinder and you don't want others using it. -If you'd like to create a warp so others can easily get to your island, you first must be an MVP or higher. If you are the correct rank, you can type /setwarp [name] to set a warp. If you are not MVP or higher, then you can either have someone set a warp for you, or use a welcome sign. To do this, you place a sign and on the first line of the sign, type [Welcome]. That allows people to type /is warp [yourname] to get to your island. The only downside to this is that the warp must be your IGN. Please note that you need an island level over 15 to create one of these warps. It's fairly easy to achieve that, though. -The nether is enabled. You need to build a nether portal to get into your nether island, which is similar to the main islands but Nether-style. Here you can get nether resources like soul sand, glowstone, nether wart, and netherrack. -Villager converting is now DISABLED. Get your emeralds from Timeless players with the emerald kit. -Iron golems are ENABLED. -Hoppers are ENABLED. (Max of 4096 per island) -Snow golems are ENABLED. -You kick a member from your island by using /island kick [player]. Example: Sookarook was being a meanie and broke my island. Sook's gone. I do /island kick Sookarook. -Max island size is now double as ever before. It used to be 100x100, but now your island can be up to 200x200. -Your nametag with your donor rank is now displayed above your player and on the tablist. -All donators have access to the /trails command - Gives your player a trail. Purely aesthetic and all donators receive all trails available. Spoiler: General Information The economy is now much lower. You won't see players having millions or billions of dollars now. A larger tutorial has been added! Go to /warp tutorial to begin. If you create a shop, it has a chance to be featured at spawn if it is good enough. Go to /warp featuredshops to see the currently featured shops. Spoiler: Voting/Crates/VoteParty A great way to make money (you use money to buy items, which we'll talk about later) is to vote twice a day. Every time you vote, you get a fixed amount of $18, two coins (we will talk about coins later on in this thread) and a Voter Crate Key (Gold nugget is $5). However, you can get lucky and receive one of the four "lucky" crate keys: (Name tags are the crate key one tier higher than itself, and the bed is to exit.) Spoiler: Voting/Crates/VoteParty Common Crate Key (Gold nugget is $25) Lucky Crate Key (Spawners are Sheep, Pig and Chicken) Exceptional Crate Key (Spawners are Cow, Creeper and Horse. Gold nugget is $350) Spawner Crate Key (Cow, Creeper, Horse, Sheep, Pig, Chicken, Zombie, Blaze, Wolf, Skeleton and Witch Spawners) 90 Vote Reward: Each time you vote for Minetime, it is counted. Once you have voted a total of 90 times, you will recieve a 90 Vote Reward key with insane rewards in it. Get voting! (Nametags are 3 spawner keys and 3 exceptional keys. Spawner is Witch. Iron is 128. Redstone is 256. Gold nugget is $500) When you get the vote keys, you go to spawn and right click on the crate 'Vote Crate'. It will then choose a random reward from the crate and give it to you. In the crate, you could pull out a Common Crate key, which gives better rewards. In the Common Crate, you could pull out a Lucky Key, and in the Lucky Crate, you could get an Exceptional key and so on. Every time someone votes for Minetime, it is counted up. Once there is a total of 200 votes, the server starts something called a Vote Party. When a vote party occurs, it gives out crate keys to every player on the server at the same time. You can get one or more keys for every Vote Party. Spoiler: Challenges A great way to earn money is by completing challenges. To see the challenges GUI, you type /challenges or /c. Various challenges appear, in different sections, ranging from Novice to King. You complete these challenges by gathering the resources needed. One of the challenges is gather 2 stacks of cobblestone from your cobblestone generator. Once you complete all the Novice challenges, it unlocks a new set of challenges to complete that are harder, but have better rewards. Spoiler: Reaction Reaction is probably my favorite addition to Skyblock. Every few minutes, a message pops up in the chat that says '[Reaction]: Hover to type!' or '[Reaction]: Hover to unscramble!' You hover over that message and you see the word that you have to type in chat. Sometimes, it is a scrambled up word, and you have to unscramble it before you type. The first person to type the word is rewarded with $3. Example: [Reaction] Hover to unscramble! [Reaction] Jamie370 unscrambled Noobcrew in 3.56 seconds! Spoiler: Island Level Island level is what classifies how good your island is. The more you place expensive blocks and the bigger your island is, the more your island level goes up. You can view your island level with /island level, or view the top ten island levels with /island top. Your island level is now displayed before your name in chat. If you complete certain challenges that require a high island level, you will receive a special title. The titles are: Spoiler: Lockette Lockette is a very important plugin that allows you to keep your chests private from other island members. To use lockette. you place a sign on a chest and don't write anything on the sign. The sign then has the text [Private] on the first line and your IGN on the second line. If you're sharing chests with somebody else and want them to be able to access the chest as well, you type /lockette line 3 [name]. If you'd like to add a second person, do /lockette line 4 [name]. Example: /lockette line 3 pkbear. Spoiler: Player Shops Player shops are now being emphasized as the main way to make money. To create a player shop, place a chest and a sign above it. On the sign, you have to type in a certain format for the player shop to work. On the first line, you type your IGN. On the second line, you type the quantity of the item you're selling or buying. On the third line, you type B or S (buy if you're selling the item,S if you're buying from the people visiting) and then the price of the item. On the last line, you type the item you're selling. Examples: xKittenCatx 64 B1 Cobblestone zOllie 1 S5 Diamond Spoiler: Coins A brand new addition to Skyblock is coins. To get coins, you vote and recieve 2 per vote. They can be used at /warp shop to be traded with the villagers there. There are five different villagers that sell different items: Squidward (Head Seller): 16 Coins for Steve, Creeper, Skeleton and Zombie heads 32 Coins for Wither Skeleton Skull 64 Coins for Dragon Head Flower Trader: 4 coins for various types of flowers. Misc. Trader: 7 coins for 16 grass 8 coins for 8 diamonds 8 coins for 16 gold 8 coins for 32 iron 6 coins for 24 End stone bricks 7 coins for 3 lapis blocks 7 coins for 16 sand Special Block Trader: 3 coins for 32 red nether bricks, 32 prismarine (bricks, blocks and dark), 32 sea lanterns, 4 coins for 16 redstone lamps 6 coins for 1 noteblock, 1 jukebox Block Trader: 1 coin for 32 Polished Diorite, 32 Polished Andesite, 32 Stone Bricks 2 coins for 32 bricks, blocks of quartz and nether bricks. 3 coins for 32 red sandstone, 16 glowstone Spoiler: Kits -The main kits for donator ranks have remained the same. You will receive items like cobblestone, redstone, grass, iron, gold, diamonds and sand. The better your rank, the more items are in your kit. Other Kits: /kit mobs (All donors): 16 of most mob eggs daily. /kit wool (VIP+): 16 of each wool daily. /kit clay (Executive+): 8 of each terracotta/clay daily. /kit powder (Admin+): 8 of each concrete powder daily. /kit purpur (Timeless): 8 purpur blocks daily. /kit sword (Everyone): One Iron Sword (Fire Aspect 2, Unbreaking 3) every 8 hours. /kit sapling (Everyone): 3 Oak Saplings every 20 minutes. /kit bone (Everyone): 5 Bones every 30 minutes. /kit emerald (Timeless): 2 Emeralds daily. /kit Timeless (Timeless): One time kit with enchanted diamond tools, an elytra, a 'Timeless Helmet'. /kit Spawnercrate (Purchasable for $15 on Buycraft): One Spawner Crate key every 6 days.
