Goodbye Minetime Before I start I would like to preface this by saying that most of my close friends on Minetime have quit in the past year or two, so anyone that is reading this probably doesn't know me. It's okay, you can click off. I just really felt like I needed a place to share my journey on Minetime. Hello Inferiors, I joined Minetime back in 2014, when I was 11 years old. My IGN was Jersty12 at the time. My friend XxgoldfishxX introduced me to the server after I got bored of Cubecraft creative. I joined the server along with my friend JasIThink, who was known as Awesomeness931 when she joined. The creative server always had hundreds of players at the time, the chat was filled with people advertising, role playing, asking MVPs and above to help them set a warp. A few weeks into playing on Minetime, I met a guy named ry400. He was my first online friend. And although he has long moved on from Minetime, he was one of the people that made my experience with this server great. About a year into playing on Minetime, JasIThink surprised me on my birthday by buying me the Enhanced rank. And that was the start of a little era I like to call the Unholy Trinity Era. A perm that came with the Enhanced rank was force tp, which I obviously abused. ry400, Awesomeness931 (jas), and I would tp to people while invisible (because /warp headshop at the time had a dispenser) and throw eggs and enchantment potions at them. Admin rank at the time could also tpall for other people, which we also abused. Needless to say, we were really annoying. In the next year or so, I ranked up to VIP. I made a bunch of new friends, whom I've all lost contact with unfortunately. Around the beginning of 2016, I had my last rankup to MVP, which is the rank I have up to this date. I was not very active on forums, I only really joined in the first place to report people. Because I was not active on forums, I had no idea Minetime was going to shut down. Which got me really confused when I couldn't join the server. Near the end of 2016 ( I believe...), I was able to re-join Minetime, but to my surprise, there were only about 200 people online. Which, right now, seems like a lot, but compared to the old 1000+ players, it was nothing. I was able to make some new friends, like Memedrew, Lucky_Pusheen, Cxlm, and a mutual friendship between the folks that would use my mob grinder on skyblock. I've tried to come on the server regularly, but seeing something that was a major part of my childhood die is heartbreaking. Many people have addressed the issues with the staff team and the owner, so I won't get into that. But seeing something so important to me at the hands of someone who doesn't even give a crap about it just infuriates me. I am quitting because Minetime no longer gives me joy. I miss the days where I'd come on to hundreds of people frantically typing in chat about their day. Now, whenever I log on, I am greeted with the sight of the skeleton of Minetime. If the server is ever revived, I would love to come back online. But the old players are quitting, and no new players are joining. I am not quitting Minecraft, but I will not be playing as much as I have started grade 10 this year and I would like my main focus to be on school. What really pushed me over the edge of quitting was BMAN and Hammynl leaving. The reason being BMAN has been part of the staff team for as long as I can remember, and him leaving is my last bit of connection to the old Minetime leaving. Hammynl was never close to me, but he was extremely kind especially when I started being active in the community again. Him leaving just shows how weak the staff team has become. I'm not saying that the staff team is terrible and incompetent, but I just no longer have any hope for Minetime. Special Thanks: (most of them don't have forums, so im not gonna tag.)
