Hello fellow Minetimers. I'm not usually this blunt in announcements released on the front page of the website. However, the staff and I have been very disappointed with the kind of behavior we've been seeing in the chat throughout the Minetime network lately (and especially in the creative server). Here's the scoop: What we've observed: Profanity (primarily idiomatic profanity) Spam in the chat and through personal messages Talking about sex in a derogatory or inappropriate way Bullying and purposefully pestering others Disrespect towards staff members Disrespect towards peers Although some of the things I listed above (such as profanity) are permitted on most other servers, all of these things are absolutely prohibited on the Minetime network. Actions we've taken: Distributed a strict custom-coded mute plugin throughout the Minetime network Removed the /me command throughout the Minetime network Removed the /kick command from the creative server Limited chat messages to one message per two seconds on the creative server Blacklisted the word "sex" on the creative server (not previously blacklisted) Banned users with obscene or sexually explicit usernames Banned users who have to been known to frequently use profanity or attempt to bypass the mute plugin Why we're doing this: Minetime is to be a family-friendly environment Minetime is to be a place apart from the profanity you find on most servers The staff and I personally do not like or support profanity Many players on our network do not like or support profanity We've received complaints from our players' parents about this We've already had enough of this elsewhere on the internet This is a PSA to all of you warning you about how we're cracking down on what you put in the chat. The staff and I are also going to start regularly reviewing each servers' log file to find what we are not online to see. You have been warned.
Although many people are irritated at these changes, I think it is a very good step of action that the staff has taken. With these new rules and limitations, fewer people will be harassed or bullied by immature players. I remember when I was being called "gay" and many other hurtful words on Skyblock one day by kyleep12345 and caprisun_beach because I did not agree to give them 4 beacons for free. I imagine the chat to be much more controlled now on, thanks to Collin, Emily, Drake, and drtshocks changes.

Lol, I talked to him about that. He said that it could be just as insulting to little kids if they know what it means.
It's not an insulting word. It doesn't have to do anything about other people. I mean you know what it means but it doesn't like "insult" them or whatever. That probably didn't make sense.
Finally colin but this should of been stopped ages ago.. People have been reported but still nothing had happened. Im truly disapointed with the staff because this has been happening for ages. But its stopped now. Glad /kick is gone tho because honestly people were just abusing it.
Also, I would like to be able to kick players off my island as promised at /warp question but that thing is outdated anyways.
